DIY

I love trash crafts. I wanted to be hands on (who doesn't?) with how my wedding would look and DIY-ing it was extra work but it was rewarding as well. From braving Divisoria thrice, one time alone, other times with mama, to wood burning, to manually sewing laces and burlaps, Martin drawing our save the dates and invites, and bringing everything in the US, again I'm glad that everything went well. Pinterest played a big part when it comes to pegs and such, and of course, Google is a friend--you can find everything you need with just a few clicks of the button.

Here's how the place looked like and how the details all came together.

Paper lanterns, M &S and clips are from Divi, P20 each for the letters! Here in US, these are I think $5 or P200 per letter and a pack of clips costs P80. Steal!

I wanted to have our names engraved on the chopsticks but I didn't have any luck on finding a cheap store to get this done back in the Philippines. Good thing there's this thing called pyrography or wood burning. There's a special tool for this, a slanted metal engraver tool like the soldering iron but again, it costs P4000 just for this. I ended up buying a soldering iron instead and using it as an alternative for carving/engraving/burning our names on each pair of the chopsticks. The jackets holding the chopsticks were handmade as well from a burlap from Divi (P120 vs P800 if i bought/ordered if from here), P20 wooden beads, and P120 for the laces in colors pastel pink, yellow and green.

The receiving table. It's different from what I would want it to look like but yeah what can we do? It had our initials, seat plan and seat plan stand (DIY-ed it as well with burlap and board and strings for hanging the names) and ukulele and comic books and lomo camera.

From computer to chalkboard. The easel was a steal as well from one of the garage sales we've visited. It could cost $14 but we got it for $6. #Forevermore

Invites hand-drawn by Martin :)

Table setting I envisioned while I was still in my bedroom in Cavite.

More details needed. With the help of papa, he was the one who set the photobooth, and placed the directional sticks in place. Thank you papa!

Thanks also to Elia and Carina for doing the flowers. Saved a lot by using what we already have -- the gazebo rather than renting one.

We wanted the guests to experience the actual fishball and ihaw-ihaw extravaganza, but I dunno why the station came out like this. Still, guests enjoyed (I hope) munching on these as they await for dinner, which is another story. Where's the rice? Lol.

Ube and green tea cupcakes, chocnut cookies, panna cotta and buko pandan for dessert. This part was well presented so yay :)

I am just hoping that the photographers were able to capture the place's setting. I haven't seen the entire photos they took so I am keeping my fingers crossed. Most of the pics here were grabbed from online. I don't own it. Thank you Amber, I think these photos are from her.
