Yup, Camilla is now big and heavy! Her last Pedia visit at 6 months she was at 20 lbs. Right now, she may be at 22 lbs? Turns out, the milk at night should have been completely removed by now. So the new game plan is to feed her at bedtime (last feeding) and the ones she takes in the middle of the night, I'll cut it down to half of what she's having, then slowly remove this middle of the night feeding. It should be do-able since it was a habit, we could train her to sleeping through the night.
LolaLea flew back to the Philippines 2 weeks ago so I've been on leave since then. It was tiring the past 2 weeks. I sincerely thought and hoped that Martin would somehow step up but he did only a couple of times. You know, tired from work so I need to relax and unwind and play video game instead. I dunno about that but I just let it pass. I can take care of Camilla myself, of course a little assistance helps a whole lot, but it's different I guess for dads and moms. He's been helping for sure, I just find it not enough so sure.
Camilla is super easy to take care, although super heavy as well! She can now sit up with super little assistance. She loves rolling over and doing tummy time. She still loves putting everything in her mouth, straps and labels are her favorites. She cried a lot when we placed her the first time on the mat. Maybe because it was a new experience for her plus the mat was hard! Right now, she's okay with being placed on it and playing with her toys. Hopefully in a few days/weeks, she'll learn how to crawl. Patience my friend.
I've introduced letters A, B, and C to her. Also the color blue and orange. She knows where the boys are (looks at dada's toys display), she knows the bird says "tweet tweet", she knows that when she's placed in her stroller, high chair and car seat that she'll be strapped in these. She would ready her arms for those straps! She knows who dada is, hopefully who mama is, too. She knows how to use her pacifier, the touch of her blanky, she knows bunbun the bunny, Jollibee, gigi the giraffe, she knows how to open her mouth when food is about to be given to her. She somehow pays attention when you read to her a book before bedtime. It's a struggle to change her diaper since her butt would dance and she rolls over 99 percent of the time. What I do is give her a new item so that she's distracted and it works 65 percent of the time. She still loves taking a bath! We give her 5 ounces of formula every 4 hours. She's also okay with the following food:
Rice Cereal
Apple
Pear
Orange
Mango
Banana
Carrot
Squash
Sweet Potato
Peas
Spinach
Broccoli
She still loves to make that face (like something stinks!). She would scream at the top of her lungs, she would sing when you ask her to sing with you (she'd say "aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa"), when she's sleepy she would just fall on my chest (the best feeling!), she would give her hand when you ask her to dance with you, she knows how to look up when you ask her while taking a bath (so we can wash her neck), she likes to choke my neck and kick me whenever she can. She is super strong. When you know how how to make her smile and laugh, you'll enjoy being with her.
I've been away from work for 2 weeks and 1 day now. Hopefully everything's still cool. I've lost access to my cssm mobile but whatevs. I'll be back this Thursday. In laws will be here tomorrow. I'm prepping up for the days when I won't be able to see Camilla. Most likely they'll bring her to Oregon. Of course I can't say no to that so again whatevs. We've set Camilla's baptism to August 26th, Saturday. We'll see how things will go. Everything's happening so fast I hope I can catch up. Honestly I am super stressed on what to do. I pray for guidance and that no matter what, we keep Camilla as our priority and source of strength.
